John Richard (Rich) Kaufman passed away following extended illness on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. He was 91.
On May 30, 1933, he was born to John Elmer and Emma Mae (Shrock) Kaufman in the family farm home where he resided during his lifetime. He graduated from Claridon High School in 1951, where he participated in FFA and band while working on the family farm. On April 15, 1956, he married Jacqueline McClung in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Marion and they shared their life in marriage for nearly sixty-nine years.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Marion, and especially enjoyed his Sunday school class and spending Sunday mornings with his classmates.
Farming was Rich's life. As an only child, he took over his 4th generation family farm operation in his teens and grew it into a successful family operation, earning both Ohio Century Farm and Ohio Sesquicentennial Farm recognition from the State of Ohio Department of Agriculture.
