Grover E. "Gene" Dunn, age 76, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Marion General Hospital.
On February 23, 1949 Grover was born in Marion, Ohio. The son of the late Grover S. and Bernita (Krider) Dunn. Grover attended Ridgedale High School and was part of the Class of '68.
After high school, Grover proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his service, Grover earned the National Defense Service Medal and Marksman Medal serving as a Field Artillery Specialist. Grover's commitment to his country continued long after his military service, as he spent two years as the Commander of the American Legion, advocating for and supporting his fellow veterans.
In addition to his leadership in the American Legion, Grover served on the local military honors team, ensuring that those who served before him were honored with the respect and dignity they deserved. His unwavering sense of duty and his love for his country were evident in every endeavor he unde
