Ned E. Travis, age 80, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 at Marion General
Hospital.
On September 26, 1944 Ned was born in Richwood, Ohio, the son of the late Marion E. and Mildred "Libby" (Martino) Travis. Ned graduated from Richwood High School.
After high school, Ned went to work at Marion Tecumseh for a few years, then moved on to the Xerox Company as a Technician Specialist for over 35 years before he retired.
Ned's true passion was riding his motorcycle, taking long journeys with his friends. Colorado, Texas, following the Natchez Trace Trail, and visiting the site of the Old Man in the Mountain, were just a few of their many destinations. It was not just the destination that
mattered to Ned; it was the experience of sharing those journeys with the people he loved.
For 13 years, Ned and his beloved wife, Sheila, made the pilgrimage to Sturgis, South Dakota for the yearly bike rally. They rode their motorcycle, with a trailer in tow, to their destination.
