Dr. Walter Richard "Dick" Schuler, age 94, of Marion, passed away peacefully at his home in Delaware, Ohio, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Born in Marion, Ohio, Dick was one of six children of the late Walter and Eleanor (Donovan) Schuler. He was deeply rooted in his Catholic faith from an early age, attending St. Mary Catholic School before graduating in 1948 from St. Mary High School, where he was a standout performer on the football and basketball teams. He went on to study at the University of Dayton and later earned his medical degree from Loyola Medical School in 1956, specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
While completing his residency at Lewis Memorial Hospital, Dick met a young nurse, Yvonne Ann Schoenenberger. The two fell in love and were married on June 14, 1958 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. They soon settled in Marion, where Dick joined his brother, Jim, in private practice, serving the community through their medical office and their work at Marion General Hospital. Through
